An Animal Model for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Introduction 

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a group of heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorders, characterized by underlying cognitive features such as early-onset deficits in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and highly restricted interests [1, 2]. Autism is often diagnosed and characterized on a spectrum, as its range of severity is wide and can co-occur with other symptoms such as intellectual disability, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbance, epilepsy, delayed motor development, and more [3].

Perennializing Staple Grain Crops: A Literature Review of Success and Challenges

Climate change and a continuously growing population have increased demands on global food yields. However, meeting the planet’s hunger needs does not have to come at the price of depleting its natural resources. A possible sustainable solution to this issue is the perennialization of all staple grain crops. This review analyzes the successes, challenges, and applications of the perennialization of staple grain crops such as sorghum, corn, rice, and wheat.
