Communication via Medical Interpreters and Translators

Around 10% of Americans have limited English proficiency and are at risk of being unable to effectively communicate with and understand healthcare staff. The this can lead to improper treatment and other health inequities. Healthcare today aims to mitigate this issue through the use of both medical interpreters and medical translators. This report will discuss the communication and writing employed by medical interpreters and translators for undergraduate students who are interested in this field and in healthcare.
